We are thrilled to announced that Estate 1856 has been awarded two gold medals in the 2019 Los Angeles International Wine Competition.
- 2016 Malbec earned Best in Class, Gold and 96 points in the judges evaluation.
- 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon earned our second Gold Medal and 93 points.
The competition is truly international and judged 2,350 wines from 19 countries and 800 wineries, including: Argentina, Australia, Bulgaria, Canada, Chile, China, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Mexico, New Zealand, Portugal, Romania, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Ukraine and the USA. A total of 155 Best of Class Awards and 519 Gold Medal Awards were given. We are delighted that our Malbec received the top rating of all international entries!
If you are in the LA (Pomona) for the next two coming weekends and/or attending the LA County Fair, there are a variety of tastings and classes where you can enjoy all of the top awards winning wines. Our wines will be featured this Saturday, September 14th, at 4PM in the “Totally California Gold: Gold Medal Winners from California class” and on Saturday, September 21st at 4PM in the “Best of the Best: Best of Class Wines.” You’ll find them in the LA County Fair Wine Education Center on site!
