Located in the heart of Dry Creek Valley (Sonoma County, California), Estate 1856 is a boutique, family-owned winery. We specialize in small, hand-crafted lots of estate-grown Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, and Petit Verdot. Tending the land our ancestors originally purchased in 1856, we proudly carry on a tradition of farming that has continued through five generations.
Current ReleasesThe 2012 wines include our signature wine, the DOUBLE GOLD MEDAL Duvall's Prospect Bordeaux Blend with layers of bright, fresh fruit, vanilla, mocha and chocolate, a BEST OF CLASS, 96 POINT AND GOLD MEDAL Cabernet Sauvignon that combines subtle nuances of blackberry pie, dark chocolate and toasty mocha, and our delicious GOLD MEDAL Malbec that offers concentrated fresh aromas of blueberry threaded with cocoa and spices.
